TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Grad Pass ("we," "our," or "us"), an educational platform that helps students, schools, and organizations track and manage Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, approvals, and certificates. By accessing or using Grad Pass, you agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. Please read these Terms carefully before using Grad Pass.
Grad Pass and all associated intellectual property rights remain the property of Jazztech Software Dev't Services ("Provider") or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use Grad Pass on devices you own or control. This license applies to:
Students and parents/guardians for personal educational use
School and organization administrators for authorized educational management
You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, transfer, redistribute, or sublicense Grad Pass outside these authorized uses.
To use Grad Pass, you must register and create a user account. Registration may require:
Providing accurate personal information (e.g., name, school, grade)
Verifying your date of birth
Using an access code provided by your school or organization
Parental consent is required for students under 13 before account creation (see COPPA Compliance). You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
Grad Pass implements role-based access control to protect student information:
Students may view and manage their own SSL records.
School administrators may access records for students in their school.
Organization administrators may access records only for students they supervise.
Grad Pass maintains an audit trail documenting record access, approvals, and electronic signatures.
For users under the age of 13, Grad Pass complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
Students under 13 cannot create accounts without verified parental consent.
Parents/guardians must review, approve, and electronically sign consent forms.
Parents have rights to review, request deletion, or revoke consent for their child’s data.
Student accounts will not be activated until parental consent is provided.
Grad Pass complies with FERPA:
Schools retain control over student education records.
Grad Pass acts as a school official with legitimate educational interest.
No student data is publicly accessible.
Data is shared only with authorized users as described in Section 3.
Grad Pass does not collect sensitive personal belief, political, religious, or survey data that would trigger PPRA compliance requirements.
For Maryland schools, Grad Pass adheres to the Maryland Student Privacy Act:
Student data is not sold or used for targeted advertising.
Data is used solely for educational purposes.
Students or parents may request deletion of their data.
Reasonable security measures are in place to protect data.
Students or parents may:
Download personal data, SSL hours, approvals, and certificates in PDF or CSV format.
Request account deletion. Data may be retained temporarily (e.g., 30 days) to meet legal obligations before permanent deletion.
We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information, including:
Role-based access control
Secure authentication
Encrypted transmission of sensitive data
Audit logging of record access
However, no system can guarantee absolute security. You provide information at your own risk.
By using Grad Pass, you agree to use it only for legitimate educational purposes. Unauthorized use, sharing of student data, or use outside approved roles is prohibited. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.
Grad Pass is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that Grad Pass meets all user requirements.
Provider is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of Grad Pass. Liability is limited to amounts paid, if any, for use of Grad Pass.
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Provider may terminate your access for violations. Upon termination, you must stop using Grad Pass and delete all copies from your devices.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States. Disputes shall be resolved in Maryland state or federal courts.
We may update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
